A renewal notice can be changed or put into mediation at any time, although it must be accepted by the tenants to be valid. This flexibility ensures that all information in the notice is accurate and up-to-date.

Why Modify or Mediate a Renewal Notice?

There are several reasons why you might need to modify or mediate a renewal notice:

  • Accuracy: Ensure that all details, such as dates and terms, are correct.

  • Changes in Conditions: Adjust the notice to reflect any changes in lease conditions or agreements before it start date.

  • Conflict Resolution: Use mediation to resolve any disputes or disagreements before the notice is finalized.

Steps to Modify or Mediate a Renewal Notice

To modify or mediate a renewal notice, follow these simple steps:

  1. Select the notice in question:

    • Navigate to the section where the renewal notice you wish to modify or mediate is located. This can usually be found in the "Notices" or "Renewals" section of your account dashboard.

  2. Open the three small dots at the top right:

    • Once the notice is selected, look for the three small dots in the upper right corner of the notice. These dots typically represent additional options or settings. Click on these dots to open a dropdown menu with several options.

  3. Choose the desired option:

    • In the dropdown menu, you will have the option to modify, mediate, or delete the notice. Select "Modify" to make changes to the notice or "Mediate" if you wish to temporarily suspend the notice for further review. Deleting the notice will remove it permanently.

  4. Notice returns to draft:

    • After selecting to modify or mediate the notice, it will automatically revert to draft status. This means the notice is no longer active and can be freely edited. You can then make any necessary modifications before republishing it. Be sure to review all changes carefully to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Additional Tips

  • Communicate with Tenants: Keep an open line of communication with your tenants to ensure they are aware of any changes and understand the implications.

  • Review Terms: Double-check all terms and conditions to ensure they meet legal requirements and are fair to both parties.
